New Years Resolutions are out… End of Year Assessments are in!

New Year 2010New Years 2010, How to Achieve Success!

New Years 2010…Can you believe it…. 2009 is ready to come to a close already and it is time to make your New Years resolutions 2010… STOP!  Don’t make them!

It is time for you to make those year end assessments  and take a really good look at where your at right now.  As you noticed I did not say make them New Years Resolutions!

Forget about those New Years Resolutions… They have not worked in the past, what makes ya think they will work this time around.

You are going to achieve success in 2010 only by a proper assessment of your current situation and then using it as your starting point to strategically move forward to achieving your goals!

Really take a look at what you did have success with in 2009 and how it was made possible, and look at the things that failed and why they failed.

I don’t want you to focus on how you got there, or who  you feel was responsible for getting you to your current place.

Take a real good look at where your at though right now… because no matter where that place is at… god or bad… it is your starting point for 2010.

It does not matter if you like the place your currently at or not.  The plain simple truth is where your at…is where your at.  Do not beat yourself up if you don’t like your assessment.  It is not about the good or bad you reveal in your assessment… Its how we move forward from today that really counts.

Take the time to acknowledge the strengths and positives you  find during your assessment and draw from them. Let them propel you forward.

Begin focusing on all of the things you currently have  that are positive no matter how big or small they may seem to you. You need to appreciate all of the things you currently have no matter how small or big what you have seems.

As we head into 2010 you need to go in with a positive attitude armed and ready for success.

Im quite sure that as you look at your current status you  will see that when 2009 is all said and done that there was  more said than more actually got done.

Guess what… It does not matter one bit…  What matters is that you are ready to move forward from this place you find yourself at and work towards your goals!  It is time to take action!

Without action you remain stuck in a rut.

Where your at right now is where you are going to start 2010 from.  You can’t go back and do a 2009 re-do, so why dwell on it.

2010 is yours to shape though.

I had a young guy get stuck in my yard yesterday when he spun out of control on the ice and ended up buried in a snowdrift.

Well he would still be there if he would not have taken some action to remove himself from the ruts he dug into my lawn.

Another guy came along and tied on a tow rope ready to pull him out but unfortunately he did it all wrong.

He himself backed off into my lawn to tie on and when he went to pull the other guy out he buried himself in my  lawn as well.

He did not keep his vehicle on a solid base and ended up in the same place the other guy did.  STUCK IN MY Lawn that is now full of big Ruts!

The 3rd guy that came along knew what needed to be done and he proceeded to pull them both out and get them back on the road to reaching their destination.

As we end 2009 and start out 2010 here is my advice to you.

1.  Assess your current point in life and acknowledge it.  (remember it does not matter how or who got you there..  and don’t beat yourself up if you don’t like your assessment.)

2.  Focus on the positive things you have right now… No matter how big or small.

3.  Find someone or something that is already on a good solid base to tie on to.  (model Success… Find a mentor that cares about where your heading)

4.  Know that you can’t control some of the things that happen, but you can control your response to them!

5.  Celebrate every small successes you have. It is the small things that are going to keep you going.  (When I was in the Marine Corps I learned pretty fast it did not take a very big bomb to make a big hole on Impact!)  It is important to have your big lofty end goals but that is not where your focus should be.  Our big lofty goals will always be re-shaped and revised.  Focus on the samll action oriented achievable goals that are going to get you to the end results.  No matter how small or insignificant a success may look or seem… it is importnat to remember it was a success and it needs to be celebrated in a big way.

6.  I Can’t or it is impossible is no longer in your vocabulary for 2010.  Who the heck told you that you can’t?  Who the heck is telling you it is impossible.  It is nothing but a big lie.  (I know that all things are possible through Christ who gives me strength and there is nobody that will ever convince me differently ACCEPT ME!) Time for a new vocabulary!

Affiliate Marketing… Why Do Most Fail?

Why Do Most Affiliate Marketers Fail?

I really believe that Benjamin Franklin said it best, “By failing to prepare, you are preparing to fail.”

I believe it is the same reason most deer hunters miss the deer on opening day!  In the excitement of seeing that Big Buck we shoot without the necessary preparation it takes to actually hit the deer… We forget to take proper aim!  The story comes back that I just missed a big buck by a couple inches.  It does not matter how many inches the miss was… it was still a miss.

Most people fail at the things we try like Affiliate Marketing  because we get so excited and caught up in the hype and the possibilities of making money that we would rather just jump in and FIRE!

We jump the gun and FIRE First, rather than invest the appropriate time to get READY for our shot and we certainly never even think about our AIM!  On a positive note:  If you aim for nothing there is a good chance you will hit it.

The biggest excuse for this is because it feels “unproductive” to prepare and set up a system… We want or need money or results right now!  Sometimes the circumstance we live in demands this.  I really understand this trust me.  I have been in the situation of needing money to the point it was so stressful I couldn’t take it much anymore.

Every day the phone ringing from debt collectors wanting money that I just did not have.  Not that I didn’t want to pay it… Just did not have it to pay.

But understand this one thing right now… Preparation is how the successful succeed, and if success is really what you want, which I really believe it is, then  proper preperation  is the only way your going to become one of the successful!

I guess the last sentence is the solution to the problem then.  If you want to success at Affiliate Marketing then it is going to take nothing more than proper planning and preparation for your success.

You need to start your planning and preparation by setting the right goals both long and short term goals which we will talk about in my next post.

Affiliate Marketing Students Paying Attention!  This is a post from one of my Affiliate Marketing Survival students who pays attention and is doing some very amazing things.

Affiliate Marketing is one aspect of internet marketing. It’s all about selling other peoples’ stuff and it is a great idea-if it works well.

Is affiliate marketing working well for YOU? If so, you no doubt understand why. And we would be interested to have your comments on this page, if you’d be kind enough to chime in! If success has eluded you, are you interested to learn how to make it profitable and productive? Or, like so many others, will you throw your hands up and surrender?

People will wail, “It didn’t work for me. I tried it but I gave up because I couldn’t do it!”

Giving up is understandable but will not help you achieve profitability and it’s not really necessary. Let’s examine some of the elements of affiliate marketing and see if we can help you figure out what WILL work.

First and foremost, you must know that it is not the affiliate marketing that works; it is YOU.

If you know anything about real estate you have heard the expression “Location. Location. Location.” Location is EVERYTHING in real estate. With internet marketing in general and affiliate marketing in particular the cry is: “Preparation. Preparation. Preparation.

People tend to want instant gratification so they think that by doing anything, even out of sequence, they will surely hit their mark. Think, “Ready. Aim. Fire.” People who are unprepared are likely to fire first and fail to aim or be ready.

Would-be affiliate marketers would be wise to lay out long term goals with short term goals for every step that needs to be taken. Beyond that, there need to be rewards in place for the completion of both long term and short term goals.

Make the rewards fit the goals. For example, if you finish three things on your Task List, you get to do the Happy Dance and meet a friend at the coffee shop. When you earn the dollar amount you have set for yourself, you get to turn cartwheels in the yard and spend a day at the beach. Or you get to buy a new book dealing with your niche. I’m sure you get the idea.

Here is a great idea from one of the Top Gurus in affiliate marketing Mr. Jeff Wellman himself:

He uses a white board to post his goals and his tasks. As each one is accomplished he erases it, does the Chicken Dance, and eats waffles at his local hangout. For the bigger goals, he eats Chinese. That’s HIS thing; what is YOURS?

Don’t get your knickers in a twist when you miss your mark. Reset your goal, tweak your priorities, keep at it and prepare like never before!

Commitment is a huge factor in the success of any endeavor. Internet marketing, affiliate marketing is no different in that way. If you are not committed to your preparation and learning and success, who will do it for you? Commitment cannot be outsourced nor can its importance be underestimated.

When you are committed, consistency will be a given. You cannot expect to post on your blog with your affiliate links and then wait a week or a month to re-post. Your lack of commitment and your lack of enthusiasm will be patently obvious to visitors of your site.

There is a great deal more to affiliate marketing than we can cover in this post so you can expect much more in the days and weeks to come. We leave you with the admonition to keep on keepin’ on and stay prepared!

If you really want to dive into Affiliate Marketing and have the best chance at succeeding as I have you need to check out the very program I am going through right now.

I have some awesome news for you… I just discovered that Jeff Wellman is offering this high end course that most pay $497 to get into as a Fast action bonus to another one of his amazing products the Millionaire Boss which gives you pretty much everything you need to know about setting up your own home business on the internet.  He has this product priced at $37 right now.  WOW!  what a deal.  I really recommend you grab it right away while he has his Affiliate Marketing Survival course as a special bonus to this amazing package.  I sure can’t imagine it will be there for long, and then you will be paying $497 again like most have.

Avoid The New Years resolution Failure Trap

Well here we are ready to stand face to face with a brand new year once again.  Many love this time of year as it is an opportunity to reflect on our days past and to consider our future.

Well that means it is time for each of us makes resolutions  It is time to make those commitments to change something about ourselves or the life that has presented itself to us in the out going year.

Well it is very Unfortunate that our resolutions will typically only lasts for a few days and then once again…
You guessed it…we find find ourself right back with the same situation or habits that we swore we would never
visit again.

Why is it that we tend to fail miserably at achieving these resolutions so easily?

I have been doing some thinking on this and I feel it has something that probably falls somewhere between our intent and the realities of life that tend to impose themselves upon us.

New Years is wonderful… The new year is something that marks a brand new beginning. It seems to give us a sense of new hopes and renewed energy.

There is just something about the excitement of the brand new year that compels us to really make some very radical changes in our life.

I have been trying to figure out if this year will be even more dramatic or if we will see less resolutions being made.

On one hand we have been going through some major economic changes in our lives over the past year, talk of recession, job losses, crazy gas prices, home heating, major stock market crashes that are pretty much depleting retirement accounts, major business and industries going under.

OK enough depression I am sure you get the point… Heck you have been living with it in your life the last year.

With all of the craziness going on with the down turn of our economy, many are ready for change and will go looking.

There are those that will charge full force into the New Year filled with hope and excitement and will once again pursue the dreams and goals and they will believe with every ounce of their being that the possibility of positive change is lurking right around the corner.

On the other hand I have talked with those that seem to have given up hope, and really don’t see any possibilities of their hopes and dreams every becoming reality, and really see no sense in making silly New Years resolutions.  Whats the sense…something out of their control will just come along and put out the light once they get it re-lit anyways.

The third person will enter into the New Year with a skeptical and cautious hope.  Wanting it desperatly but not fully believing that it can or will really happen for them.  But just maybe if they hold on long enough they will catch a long awaited lucky break.

One thing in common that all 3 people have is the possibility of failure.

I am sure it is easy to see how person number 2 and 3 will fail but what about the person that is charging full force full of life and enthusiasm into the New Year ahead fully expecting change to happen.

Well I believe that sometimes we get so excited that we lose a bit of perspective, or all sense of reality.  We are forgetting all of the parameters that really tend to govern our lives and the demands of life that are going to be in competition for our attention.

I see this all of the time with students who come all eager to get started making money online thinking it is their time, and as soon as they get into things a little ways they start realizing their job or family is taking so much time that they really don’t see how they can possibly make it work.

They stop attending coaching classes and send me an email after awhile letting me know how sorry they are that they have not been attending but they have just been to tired at the end of the day to pursue a dream.

We think we can take on the world and we really feel we are ready for it but once reality of life sets in, we can become easily discouraged and we lose our focus and hope.

Instead of re-looking at the goals and seeing if there isn’t a better way to go about things, we just say oh well It was just a silly dream anyways and it isn’t like I haven’t broke resolutions in the past.

Sometimes the dream is so big that we forget to put smaller more achievable and measurable steps in place to help us stair step our way to the big goal.  In this case we never see our self making any accomplishments along the way so we once again get discouraged with our progress and we quit.

If you were to add in some smaller achievable steps in-between the start point and the actual realization of your goal you would see your self making progress and soon as you marked off the steps accomplished you would find your self at the point of living what is no longer just a dream…it is reality.

Another reason for failure is that we never tell anyone about our goals and dreams or resolutions as we are calling them today.  By nt telling anyone we can say to ourself, Oh well I can quit and nobody will ever know because I am the only one that knew in the first place.  Hey way to go…you left yourself with a big fat easy out.  Where is the accountability?

Ah nobody likes to be held accountable anyways… so forget that one.  Well forget it only if you want to set yourself up for failure once again.

Maybe you have some thoughts on why we fail at keeping our resolutions.

Maybe you have some advice you can give as an expert New Year’s resolution achiever.

Maybe you can identify with one of the 3 characters above I described.

Will you make a resolution this year? If not why not?

Would love to hear your thoughts.

We would also love to help you out this year and help you get your New Year 2009 off to a brighter start financially.

Setting your Business Goals, Impact Action Team Goals Achieved

Before I get into showing you some results that Ken McArthur’s Impact Action Team accomplished over the weekend out in Long Beach California. I want to give you some good content on how you can set your own goals and how you can  make sure you achieve them.

I want to make sure that if you set yourself a goal that you feel the sense of Victory that the Impact Action Team felt this past weekend as we reached out and accomplished the goals we set as a team.
What is a Business Goal?

A goal is a statement that clearly describes actions to be taken or tasks to be accomplished by a company, a department or an individual. You will ultimatly have a number of goals, each describing a desired future condition toward which your efforts and the efforts of the team will be directed. If the goals are accomplished, then the business should be a success.

The Impact Action Team had several different players taking part in reaching our goal.  We all had specific goals within the big picture goal that individuals and individual teams were responsible for completing.  We each had specific instructions to help us reach our goals.  By each individual and each team meeting their specific goals the whole team accomplished success.

Without a goal you will find yourself accomplishing very little.  You will also not notice that you are accomplishing anything.  You need to set good measurable goals so that you can actually see that you are making steps towards the big picture goal.

Remember this point:  They are your goals and you need to design it to fit you and your business. Success is not one-size-fits-all and your goals will be unique to you and your business.

Goal setting has 2 basic purposes:

The first purpose is to establish a measure or a way to evaluate the success of your business.  Whatever you do you must be able to track it and make sure that it is on track to your success.

The second purpose of your business goal is set different priorities for all involved.  You need to decide who will be accountable for the accomplishments of each goal you set.

For example:  You will need to decide who will be responsible for each aspect of the project.  Who will write the e-book, who will do the videos, who is going to make sure the copy gets done and so forth.

Your business goals need to be challenging.  You need to set goals that will require some effort to reach.
Don’t make them so challenging that they are not obtainable, because that will lead to failure.  You need
to challenge everyone that is involved and responsible for its achievement. On the other hand if you make
them so easy that it takes no effort to accomplish, do you see this as giving you a sense of accomplishment?

There has to be some challenge involved to give you that sense of “I DID IT” Your business goal needs to say what is going to be done.  It needs to be Task-oriented. A business goal must state what is to be accomplished as clearly as possible. Leave no room for confusion for those involved.

Effective goals use action-oriented words like, How we will implement this plan, How will we establish our advertising is working, how will we make sure that the product is the right product for our market, etc.
Your goal needs to be very specific.  You must state exactly what is required from each one that is involved.
If the goal you set will lead you to a 6 figure business in one year then you need to clearly say that if we
follow this goal we will be a six figure business in one year.

Examples of Goals you can set:

Create an online Internet Marketing Business that will deliver high quality products to my customers. To find the products that my customers want to buy.

Create a Web site for my product that my customers can easily find.  To make it a pleasurable experience once they land on my site.  A website that is fast, easy to navigate.

Create a good relationship with my list of subscribers that have chosen to opt-in so that they become responsive buying customers.

Put in place a management structure and work with Joint Venture partners to accomplish my goals more efficiently, and more profitably.

Out of those 4 goals I just mentioned what is missing in them?

Let me know by leaving me a comment.

To your Success

Jeff

I would like to show you some of the results that the IMPACT Action team accomplished while at Brendon Burchard’s Life’s Golden Ticket event out in Long Beach California.

This was done by setting measurable goals and then taking the action required to meet our goals.  In this case we did not know what the exact outcome of our goal would be but we reached the goal of creating Impact and getting one person’s message out that was struggling to get noticed in this massive noisy world.
Watch our video right now.

http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-1939756148267840574&hl=en

I want to leave you with one last thing that I heard Brendon Burchard say this past weekend that was to me the most powerful statement I heard.

“Life is not about what we can get…it is about what we can give, It’s not about competing, it’s about contributing;   Its not about the applause, it’s about putting your hands together for others.”  —– Brendon Burchard

When you are setting your goals keep that statement in the forefront of your mind.  When you reach your goals will the end result lead you to be able to give to others in amazing ways that you may not be able to do right now?  If not please set goals that will lead you to be able to really give back to others.  All along the way what is it that you can give back from the results you received!

I also want you to know this…YOU HAVE MAGIC WITHIN YOU!
